October 2012
Happy October. We somehow survived that zinger of a full moon that ended last month. It that didn’t kick-start your independent spirit, troublesome or no, I don’t know what will. Now we get to do a lot of it all over again, only different. Way different.
October 1 is a Monday, the Moon’s day. Remember to make this a month to be good to people, (continue reading…)

December 2011
Happy December. As the solar year wanes, the holiday season kicks in. Mercury is retrograde for the first two weeks, so social interactions may be a bit more scrambled than usual, but that can be considered part of the fun. Resolve to enjoy this month!
Thu Dec 01 we begin the month with the Moon conjuncting Neptune in the end of Aquarius, then going void of course. Dreams are rarely as strong as they are now. Two and a half hours later Venus exactly conjuncts Pluto. Keep the level of excitement under control, except perhaps in your works of fiction. An hour after this, the Moon enters the sign of Pisces. Sensitivity peaks, but remember, Mercury is retrograde so don’t get maudlin.
Fri Dec 02 the Moon is in Pisces all day. In the very early morning, the Sun exactly squares Mars. Heads Up. You don’t have to be impatient with yourself.
Sat Dec 03 the Moon enters Aries, and conjuncts Uranus an hour and twenty minutes later. The Moon will be in Aries until Tuesday morning, so feel independent and make time to work on some of your own stuff. (continue reading…)

October 2011
Happy October! Where is this year going?
We start on Saturday (Saturn’s day of the week) with the Moon in Sagittarius. Think society, adventure, and yes, publication! Think this all month long. Not quite a couple hours after midnight, the Moon trines Uranus. You could discover something useful in a dream. Midmorning, the Moon trines Mars. Have a lively weekend and still get things done.
Sun Oct 02 the Moon is still in Sagittarius when Mars exactly squares Jupiter. It’s okay to decide that some other project is more important.
Mon Oct 03 the Moon conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn. This gets the work week off to a smart start.
Wed Oct 05 the Moon enters Aquarius in the early morning. Three out of four Wednesdays this month will see the Moon in a fixed sign. Make up your mind, and don’t be distracted from your work.
Thu Oct 06 the Moon is still in Aquarius when Mercury exactly conjuncts Saturn. Aquarius is traditionally ruled by Saturn, so look forward to a day at a slower pace with fewer mistakes.
Fri Oct 07 the Moon conjuncts Neptune in Aquarius, then goes void of course. Maybe it’s better to be social and let people inspire you.
Heads Up! The March Writer’s Astrological Almanac
by Kathy Watts on Mar.03, 2011, under Forecasts
March 2011
Welcome to the Lucky Number Three month of the year! We begin on a Tuesday (the day of the week ruled by Mars) with the Moon in Aquarius. Saturn traditionally rules Aquarius, so expect a lot of Saturn energy this month. For starters, Venus enters Aquarius today. Make this a month to work energetically, with an eye to form and beauty, and to take your work seriously (if only in private) even if the outside world doesn’t. Begin with this Heads Up: let the word ‘discouragement’ drop out of your dictionary this month.
Wed Mar 2 the Moon is in Aquarius all day. Good work habits can be made into a joy forever. Love your work, do it for yourself and others, and be diligent.
Thu Mar 3 the Moon conjuncts Neptune in the next to the last degree of Aquarius. Be open to big inspirations. It may not last, but what does? Two hours later the Moon moves on and enters Pisces and conjuncts Mars before the day ends. Now it’s time to open your heart to the feelings of others (especially fictional characters). It’s the day before the New Moon, so don’t get too caught up in the emotional soup. With Mars in this mix, the soup could get hot. Heads Up.
Fri Mar 4 is the New Moon at 13Pisces. Indulge in beautiful music. Pick up that abandoned romantic screenplay. Better yet, begin one.
Sat Mar 5 the Moon conjuncts Mercury in Pisces. It’s too easy to say the words that someone yearns to hear. (It’s a great plot device, too.) That night the Moon conjuncts Uranus in the last degree of Pisces. Heads Up. Keep your words, thoughts, and actions gentle and kind. Don’t let any errant comment turn into a cruel parting shot (unless that’s your design, and hopefully it will happen only in some fictional dialog). (continue reading…)
Heads Up! The Writer’s October Astrological Almanac
by Kathy Watts on Oct.02, 2010, under Forecasts
October begins on a Friday (Venus’s day) with the Moon in Cancer. Despite the relentless tug of the world, this can still be a good month to write (or at least to read) at home. This afternoon Mercury exactly opposes Jupiter. It’s a good day to write a blue streak (always better than talking one), although it might not all be right, which is fine for an early draft.
Sat Oct 02 Mercury opposes Uranus. Turn on the faucet, and the unconventional, even revolutionary thoughts will run like water. Be polite about it all, though (except in fiction). A few hours later, the Moon enters Leo. Hopefully the thought processes will settle down before pride kicks in.
Sun Oct 03 the Moon is in Leo when Mercury changes signs and enters Libra. May thoughts turn to harmony and peace, or at least nice plot resolutions. In the afternoon, Venus conjuncts Mars. This aspect was made to assist artistic works of any sort. Channel all your passion and charm into it and see what comes out.
Mon Oct 04 the Moon is in Virgo when Mercury squares Pluto. It’s always easy to question the need for a major change. Perhaps this is a good day to revise plot outlines (if you use such things, and Virgo would like it if you did).
Wed Oct 06 the Moon enters Libra. Work from a strong, well-centered, even-tempered space. It’s going to be a month of Wednesdays with the Moon in cardinal signs. Be more than prolific; be constructive. Late tonight, the Moon conjuncts Mercury. You can feel what the people feel. Take notes. It’s the day before the New Moon. Take extra precaution when traveling, or when firing off email. Heads Up.
Thu Oct 07 the very dark Moon conjuncts Saturn. It’s the kind of day when you can see to the bottom of the well. Observe fearlessly, but act with circumspection. Then comes the New Moon at 14Libra. I’m hoping that this will feel like recovering from some lingering illness or depression. Be brave, and put your impressions into your art.
